So I opened a can of HEB brand home style chili today. The top of the can which I just opened dropped a quarter to almost half inch down into the product from the void of product.
Then there was an eighth of a cup of water on the top of it period after straining said water the product was still watery and void of flavor. I don't know who's home that they were cooking the Homestyle chili in, but I question the Kooks methods considering it is a flavorless product. I have been cooking for 25 years and never made a watery chili in my life.
If you need a recipe please contact me I'd be happy to give you one but your home style chili really needs a tweaking because it is an inferior product. I know I had a choice of spending $0.10 more for Hormel or wolf brand and should have done it but was willing to give you a chance and with my gamble I lost.
